About Career Coaching
Career coaching is founded on the belief that you have the answers you need within you. Your coach simply helps you find them for yourself by asking the right questions and using the right tools.
By asking powerful questions and using techniques and exercises a career coach can help you unlock your potential. By working together, you can identify where you want to go and what’s holding you back. We can develop a plan to overcome these obstacles and move you forward. Career coaching is solution focused and goal orientated.

I have worked with many people helping them through the often fearful process of deciding to leave unsatisfactory, yet familiar work. Career coaching support helps you to find work that’s more in alignment with your values and where you are in your life so your work feels more rewarding and meaningful as a result. This may be a change in roles, starting the path of retraining, or a move to self-employment or entrepreneurship – or even a change in perspective about where you are right now and in terms of where you are headed in the future!
By investing in a career coach you are taking time out from your everyday life to focus on what you want and need from your work. This process can give you much needed perspective and self-awareness and allow new ideas and solutions to emerge.
Coaching is about change and action.
Coaching is not therapy
Career coaching is goal orientated to help a client make positive changes in their working life. To enable this it is necessary for clients to understand themselves - how they operate at work, what motivates them and what they need from their work.
Therapy on the other hand focuses on mental health and emotional healing. Career coaches are not equipped to diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Coaching is for you if you need help getting ‘unstuck’, building confidence or setting and achieving goals. However please consider therapy if you want to heal past trauma or get help with difficult emotions or a mental health concern.
